Cover letter

I am currently pursuing
the last year of a Master’s degree in Oceanography and Hydrology at the
University of Sciences and Technology of Hanoi (Vietnam), following a M.Sc. in
Physical and Biochemical Oceanography from the Mediterranean Institute of
Oceanography (France). Thus, I am seeking an internship to complete my studies.
I have developed extensive knowledge from my program, and from my diverse work
experiences, and I believe they can match oceanographic research fields.
During my studies, I
acquired a solid background in physics, biochemistry, numerical modelling (2D,
3D, coupled) and I also took great interest in ecological
engineering especially in wetlands. The diversity of the courses I studied and
the various field trips I was a part of in France, in Hawaii or in Vietnam taught
me the importance of work field, which I wish to be the core of my future work.
Contributing to the Coastal Physical Oceanography
and Marine Ecology Research Group in Hawaii taught me to be an efficient team
member, reactive in solving problems and focused on meeting senior scientists’
and co-workers’ expectations.
I feel confident in my ability to live
abroad, and to quickly adapt to a different culture; I am well travelled, and,
aside from France, I have lived in the United Kingdom, the United States of
America, in New-Zealand and in Vietnam.
An internship would be a true opportunity to gain a concrete and
specific professional experience within a multi-disciplinary team of experts. I would be available from 1st of March to the 31st of August 2016, as my course requires at least a five-month internship. Please do not
hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need any further
